- We work hand in hand with our data scientists, designers, engineers and product managers to build the most differentiating products and provide a delightful experience at a fair price.
- We build and manage offers for large companies and public institutions with our sales and account management teams.
- We make sure our portfolio is closely monitored and risks are effectively managed.
- We also manage our capital, steer our reinsurance strategy and maintain a trusting relationship with our insurance regulators.
The Insurance Expert role in Belgium
Being an Insurance Expert at Alan in Belgium means being part of a small and talented team currently working on delivering the best experience to our members.
The role of an Insurance Expert at Alan is to:
- Design and price insurance offers.
- Monitor the business and the risks.
- Help the rest of the team understand the subtleties of healthcare and insurance.
Recent missions include:
- Contribute to new product design and pricing strategies.
- Support Sales with insurance expertise to help sign large customers in Belgium.
- Monitor the portfolio and improve the depth and accuracy of reporting.
- Document and structure insurance knowledge to up-level the Belgium team.
- Join the insurance on-call rotation to support internal teams with day-to-day questions.
- Work with Engineering on tools that create tailored insurance offers at scale.
- Being part of an insurance community at the global level, with an impact on our organisation, hiring and training across multiple countries.
Is it you we're looking for?
- You combine a scientific background (actuarial sciences, statistics, mathematics or data science) with a first experience or strong interest in insurance (product, pricing, regulatory or analytics).
- You have strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data, business and legal questions into actionable outputs.
- You have a builder mindset: you continuously identify opportunities to improve and scale processes and systems.
- You are willing to deeply change the insurance and healthcare industry and challenge the status quo.
- You communicate in a clear, structured and to-the-point way in English (written and spoken).
Note: We are not looking for risk/finance actuaries focused on Solvency 2, IFRS 17, ALM or asset management. We need someone with an interest in product, pricing, reserving or underwriting.
