About the Role
The Included VC Africa Community & Marketing Manager role is for someone who will help build the community around the Fellowship and make more of what happens inside it visible to the outside world.
You will spend a lot of time building relationships with Fellows, staying close to what they are doing, and helping create a sense of connection, momentum, and belonging across the community. At the same time, you will help tell the story of the Fellowship more clearly and consistently - from sharing Fellows’ deep dives and insights to spotlighting wins, shaping content, and helping more people across the ecosystem understand what Included VC Africa is building.
We are looking for someone who is warm, thoughtful, proactive, and good with people. Someone who enjoys reaching out, following up, making connections, and spotting stories worth telling. This is a role with a lot of room for ownership, and it will suit someone who is excited by the idea of helping a community feel stronger on the inside and more visible on the outside.
What you will do:
Deepen Included VC Africa’s community partnerships, with a particular focus on broadening our reach across underserved markets and advancing the organization’s vision.
Proactively identify and facilitate career opportunities for Fellows by matching them with relevant roles, coordinating warm introductions, and supporting their transition into the investment ecosystem.
Help create the conditions for each cohort - and the wider network around it - to become a self-organizing community that supports each person’s journey through technology and entrepreneurship.
Help shape and share the outward story of the Fellowship - including spotlighting Fellows, amplifying deep dives and insights, and making more of what happens inside the programme visible across the ecosystem.
Build and maintain meaningful relationships across the global venture and startup ecosystem.
Coordinate with the Founder/CEO to help deliver world-class experiences.
Over time, build strong relationships with founders, investors, sponsors, and others across the Included VC Africa global community.
Design and launch new experimental offerings based on feedback and your own creativity.
Help ensure Fellows have an experience they consistently describe as career-defining, community-shaping, and unlike anything else they’ve experienced professionally.
Be the go-to point of contact for Fellows, and act as our eyes and ears on the ground by building strong relationships with each of them.
Who you might be:
Natural community-builder – understands the long game and how to cultivate positive-sum value across a network.
Has experience and networks in the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem – and knows how to build meaningful relationships across founders, investors, sponsors, and the wider community.
Has a strong “spirit of service” - where you think first about how you can give, rather than take, and always look for ways to support Fellows to the max of your ability.
Great interpersonal skills and charisma - enjoys building new relationships, creating trust across different kinds of people and settings, and representing Included VC Africa warmly and well.
Strong communication skills - verbal, written, and presentational, with the ability to spot stories, shape them clearly, and help share the work of the Fellowship in a compelling way.
Commercially and socially aware – able to identify opportunities, make thoughtful introductions, help Fellows build genuine momentum, and understand what will resonate across the wider ecosystem.
Thrives comfortably operating in a lean, high-ownership environment where priorities evolve, and initiative is required.
A note on how we operate
Included VC Africa runs lean and delivers at a high standard. That means AI tools, automations, and smart workflows are part of how we operate, and we’re looking for someone curious about how these tools can help them work better, faster, and more creatively.
You do not need to be a developer. But you should be comfortable learning new tools, experimenting, and using simple systems or automations to make things more efficient - whether that is organizing information, improving communications, or helping us share the work of the Fellowship more effectively.
Experience with tools like Zapier, Make, Notion, Airtable, or AI-assisted workflows is a strong signal, but curiosity, initiative, and speed of learning matter more than a specific tool stack.
If this feels like a stretch rather than a natural fit, this probably is not the right role.
Why join us:
Be part of a mission with high leverage: train the next generation of diverse investors across Africa.
Significant autonomy, leadership opportunity and career path potential to Community & Marketing Director.
Remote work and flexible schedule; collaborate with a small, high‑impact team and global partners.
Fellows say great things about us
Work that is both strategic and deeply human - designing experiences Fellows call career‑defining.. and then some.
