Job Summary:
As a Financial Analyst on the Account Management team, you will serve as the primary data subject matter expert (SME) and the strategic bridge between our client-facing teams and the Data Analysis/Reporting department. Your mission is to translate complex pharmacy benefit data into actionable financial insights for our clients.
What you will do:
- Support the resolution of complex client scenarios by conducting deep-dive data research and root-cause analysis.
- Partner with the account team to identify cost drivers, utilization shifts, and clinical opportunities to recommend plan design changes.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Account Management and the Reporting/Data Analyst teams.
- Interpret pharmacy claims data, trend analysis, and rebate projections for client presentations and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Oversee the integrity of client-facing financial reports, ensuring data aligns with contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to improve automated reporting tools and identify product gaps.
- Assess financial data for indicators of client attrition risk and develop data-driven mitigation strategies.
- Act as a data mentor to Account Managers, coaching them on how to interpret financial metrics.
What you will bring to SmithRx:
- Deep fluency in the pharmacy benefits space, including AWP, NADAC, rebates, formulary impact, and pharmacy network modeling.
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, financial underwriting, or actuarial support within the healthcare/PBM industry.
- Strong command of data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, PowerBI) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, modeling).
- Ability to translate complex data into executive-level insights for C-suite leadership.
- Passion for solving difficult problems in partnership with technical and account teams.
- Obsession with data accuracy and a disciplined work ethic.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to travel approximately 15-20% to client meetings.
