Job Summary
We're seeking a Technical Producer to lead the delivery of high-impact, complex digital projects. In this role you won't be tied to a single project but will operate across multiple engagements—ranging from large-scale e-commerce platforms and marketing sites to innovative product feature development.
As a Technical Producer, you are the critical link between engineering teams, clients, and leadership. You will partner closely with Technical Directors to ensure that our digital solutions are delivered with technical excellence, on time, and within scope.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of 1–2 large-scale complex projects or 2–3 smaller technical workstreams simultaneously.
Delivery Ownership: Own the planning, execution, and quality control of all technical deliverables, ensuring they meet both client expectations and Instrument’s high standards.
Agile Facilitation: Drive Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
Backlog Management: Partner with Tech Leads to translate high-level requirements into detailed, actionable technical tickets and clear delivery roadmaps.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for technical stakeholders and clients, effectively communicating technical constraints and progress.
Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify potential blockers, manage technical dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
Operational Visibility: Maintain real-time visibility into project health, team velocity, and resource allocation, providing regular updates to leadership.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of experience in technical production, technical project management, or delivery management within a fast-paced environment.
Technical Literacy: Proven track record of leading complex web-based or digital product projects. You should be comfortable discussing architecture, APIs, and development workflows.
Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience managing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to "translate" complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and pivot priorities in a dynamic, agency-style environment.
Attention to Detail: A rigorous focus on execution quality and a commitment to delivering polished, bug-free digital experiences.
Nice to have
Agency Background: Experience working in a digital agency or professional services consultancy.
Modern Tech Stack: Familiarity with modern web architectures, specifically React-based ecosystems and API-first (Headless) development.
Distributed Teams: Experience managing remote/distributed engineering teams or collaborating with external vendors.
