The Opportunity
The Grafana Alerting squad operates at the core of the Grafana open-source project, providing an in-depth way for users to manage their alerts. This backend-focused team collaborates closely with customers and Grafana Cloud teams to ensure alerting functions effectively on-premise and at scale in the cloud. Recent work includes scaling alert ingestion, unifying setup for Grafana and Prometheus-based alerts, and optimizing distributed systems for alert evaluation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Influence the team's roadmap and define personal career objectives.
- Deliver new features and iterate based on performance and user feedback.
- Drive projects from initial ideation through to operational deployment.
- Contribute to broader open-source initiatives outside of the immediate team scope.
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems with a focus on reliability and performance.
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of service reliability.
- Mentor team members and engage in technical design discussions.
- Deepen expertise in cloud architecture and distributed systems.
