Role Summary
This role is responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing the core operating systems that power the company’s tutor marketplace and service delivery infrastructure. The focus of the role is the development of the tutor supply engine and operational reliability layer that directly drive revenue activation, tutor utilization, service quality, and operational efficiency. You will be expected to replace manual and reactive operational processes with scalable systems, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.
Core System Ownership
- Tutor Supply Engine: Build systems that increase speed to activation and conversion rates for recruitment, training, and utilization.
- Reliability Layer: Develop systems for missed lesson detection, monitoring, and automated resolution pathways.
- Tutor Marketplace Mechanics: Create matching logic between tutors and students, including supply-demand balancing.
- Utilization Optimization: Build systems that maximize tutor hours and minimize idle time.
- Human + AI Hybrid Delivery: Integrate AI into workflows to augment human operations, quality control, and anomaly detection.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone operational processes and implement automated solutions.
- Build and maintain systems that operate with real-time or near real-time data.
- Design scalable backend systems and workflows supporting marketplace dynamics.
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to build workflows for quality monitoring and exception handling.
- Work directly with Operations, Teacher Recruitment, and Product stakeholders to translate operational pain points into system requirements.
Technical Stack & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role.
- Strong experience with modern frontend development using React, TypeScript, and Vite.
- Experience building scalable backend APIs using NestJS.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Prisma ORM.
- Experience working with AWS services including S3, SES, and cloud-based infrastructure management.
