Role Summary

ALX Ventures is seeking a Program Manager who will lead the centralized delivery of the Founder Academy (FA) and coordinate Incubator programming across Africa. You will own the end-to-end implementation of our startup readiness programming and collaborate with city teams and ecosystem partners to support the journey from idea-stage validation to venture acceleration. For both the Founder Academy and Incubator, this includes core programming and communications related to online masterclasses, workshops, office hours, LMS content and modularization. This will be supported separately by city teams who will determine their own complementary localized in-person and hybrid programming alongside the core programs.

You will also help steward the design and rollout of incubator showcases and manage ongoing coordination across ALX Ventures’ 8 cities and beyond. This role will report to the Delivery Manager and work closely with city teams to deliver a high-quality, data-driven learning experience for early-stage founders.

Specific Responsibilities

Program Delivery – Founder Academy

  • Lead centralized rollout of the FA cohorts, including onboarding, live sessions, milestone management, and grading.
  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination across content, platform, and city support teams.
  • Work closely with curriculum and ecosystem stakeholders to continuously improve Founder Academy's structure and outcomes.
  • Manage recruitment and onboarding of mentors, reviewers, and session facilitators.

Program Delivery – Incubator

  • Coordinate decentralized delivery of the incubator program across cities, providing central support tools and frameworks.
  • Track incubator progress across cohorts and hubs, aligning cities to shared standards and timelines.
  • Support planning and execution of final showcase events, including coordinating city inputs and participant selection.

Learning Systems & Operations

  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and Community Platform for FA and Incubator, ensuring smooth learner access and milestone tracking.
  • Coordinate with the technical team to monitor learner progress and engagement using analytics dashboards.
  • Oversee grading workflows, learner support escalation, and implementation of program updates.

Community Engagement & City Collaboration

  • Foster a strong peer-to-peer learning community within FA cohorts.
  • Maintain regular communication with city teams to align localized support and coordinate city team involvement in core delivery.
  • Provide toolkits and support to city teams implementing complementary incubator activities.

Data & Program Analytics

  • Define and track cohort-level KPIs: show-up, activation, milestone completion, graduation, and learner quality.
  • Collect structured learner feedback and synthesize insights for continuous improvement.
  • Generate regular performance reports for key internal stakeholders.

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Hire and manage technical reviewers, facilitators, and support staff and interns as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, CX Ops, and the Cities team.
  • Maintain a clear documentation system and contribute to the scaling playbook for FA and Incubator programs.

Skill Requirements - Essential

  • Strong access to networks and influence within the African entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Deep experience in early-stage venture building. Must have led or built founder-facing programs, such as accelerators, incubators, venture studios, or entrepreneurship fellowships and demonstrated ability to guide aspiring founders from ideation through launch in emerging market contexts.
  • Strategic and operational program leadership. Proven experience in designing, evolving, and executing complex, in-country and regional programs. Ability to balance structure with agility in fast-changing, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong people and team leadership. Experience managing cross-functional teams including coaches, facilitators, and external mentors. High emotional intelligence, capable of navigating interpersonal dynamics, mediating team conflict, and supporting diverse talent.
  • Regional familiarity and ecosystem fluency. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across Africa, liaising with partners and contributing to developing innovative program designs. Deep understanding of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, with strong stakeholder networks or the ability to build them quickly.
