About the Role
Acorns is seeking a Lead Writer, Product & Education to own the voice and tone system, ensuring narrative clarity and empathy across every customer interaction. You will work on complex product flows and educational content, bridging the gap between dense financial mechanics and human-centric language. This role is pivotal in defining how the product speaks to millions of users who are looking for financial guidance.
What you will do
- Own voice and tone guidelines to ensure consistency across onboarding flows, error states, and educational content.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to build end-to-end customer journeys that are intuitive and trustworthy.
- Simplify complex financial concepts and legal requirements into clear, transparent, and human-friendly copy.
- Analyze customer feedback and test copy to ensure interactions provide genuine support.
- Drive the educational agenda by creating relevant, topical in-app content to promote financial wellbeing.
- Mentor other writers and partners to foster a culture that values the power of words.
What you'll bring
- 7+ years of experience in UX and product writing, including a portfolio demonstrating expertise in microcopy, product flows, and long-form content.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to identify needs, form a point of view, and drive projects independently.
- Strong teaching abilities, specifically in translating financial literacy into actionable product content.
- A meticulous eye for detail, including the nuances of language and the emotional impact of UI labels.
