Role Overview
The Power Platform Governance & Sustainment Lead will establish, manage, and mature the governance, sustainment, and operational management functions supporting a growing portfolio of Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
This role serves as the central coordination point for application intake, governance, stakeholder engagement, sustainment activities, backlog management, user adoption, and continuous improvement efforts. As the portfolio grows, the position will help define and implement scalable governance processes, portfolio management practices, and sustainment models that support long-term operational success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead sustainment and operational management activities across a growing portfolio of Power Platform applications.
- Establish and manage governance processes supporting application intake, prioritization, lifecycle management, and operational oversight.
- Serve as the primary intake and coordination lead for application requests, enhancement requests, training needs, and operational support activities.
- Evaluate user feedback and operational issues to determine appropriate resolution paths, including training, process improvement, defect remediation, enhancements, governance actions, or modernization initiatives.
- Manage portfolio backlogs and prioritization activities across multiple applications and stakeholder groups.
- Support product lifecycle management, roadmap planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate activities across government stakeholders, development teams, and external partners.
- Support enterprise standardization, reusable solutions, reference data management, and governance best practices.
- Facilitate governance meetings, planning sessions, stakeholder reviews, and leadership briefings.
- Drive user adoption, change management, and training coordination efforts.
- Establish operational metrics and reporting to support portfolio visibility and decision-making.
- Help define and mature the long-term sustainment and governance operating model as the platform scales.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate sustainment-focused Business Analyst and Developer resources.
- Support workforce planning and sustainment growth initiatives.
- Provide recommendations regarding governance structures, operating models, and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience managing enterprise application portfolios or product-based environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience supporting application sustainment, operations, and continuous improvement activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Product Owner or Product Management experience.
- Power Platform governance or Center of Excellence experience.
- Service Delivery Management experience.
- Federal government consulting experience.
- Experience supporting digital modernization and legacy system transformation initiatives.
