Why This Role Exists
LINQ is building AI into the way we work as part of our operational transformation. We are looking for an embedded Principal AI Engineer to map workflows, simplify processes, and ship production-ready agents that take real work off team members' plates. You will define the internal agent platform, orchestration patterns, and evaluation disciplines that allow AI work to compound across the organization.
What You’ll Own
- Build the Agents (50%): Ship multi-step, tool-using agents to solve friction in GTM and Customer Experience departments. Focus on durable, reusable skills rather than novelty demos, and instrument your work to prove impact.
- Shape the Platform (20%): Define the internal agent platform, including orchestration, skills libraries, and observability. Make build-vs-buy-vs-integrate recommendations for foundation models and agent frameworks.
- Enable Everyone Else (20%): Lead technical enablement through workshops, office hours, and the creation of agent templates and documentation for internal champions.
- Strategy Partnership & Governance (10%): Partner with the CTO on the AI roadmap and ensure all deployments meet strict regulatory requirements including FERPA, COPPA, PCI, and CCPA.
Required Skills
- 8+ years building production software.
- Direct experience building multi-step, tool-using LLM workflows.
- Fluency in modern agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK).
- Strong knowledge of foundation model APIs (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI).
- Experience with evaluation and guardrail implementation for production AI.
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in high-complexity environments like PE-backed SaaS or regulated industries.
Compensation
Base salary range: $190,000 – $220,000, depending on experience and location. This role is eligible for an annual performance bonus, long-term incentive participation, and a full benefits package.
