Your Role:
The Securities Finance Analyst is responsible for managing a portfolio of borrowed and lent securities, maximizing profitability while minimizing risk, across trading, operations and engineering. The candidate will have a strong understanding of short selling facilitation, fully-paid securities lending, margin lending, and comprehensive financing solutions. The candidate will work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders on product development, operations optimization and relationship management.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and execute borrow and loan opportunities across various asset classes (equities, fixed income, ETFs) using both manual and automated trading strategies.
- Leverage SQL, AI tools to streamline daily tasks, develop analytical tools, and automate data-driven decisions, Go experience preferred.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to optimize data pipelines, trading systems, operational efficiency and risk controls.
- Monitor outstanding loans, recalls, and rates to optimize risk and profitability.
- Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, lenders, custodians, and firm client partners.
- Assess and manage counterparty, credit, and market risk while staying informed of market developments and regulatory changes.
- Work with existing and new securities lending vendors on product development solutions.
- Create automated workflow solutions for securities lending trading and operations.
- Assist in infrastructure building and business development for tokenized equities financing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or a related quantitative field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a technical or trading role, ideally with some exposure to securities lending, short selling, operations or related experience.
- Series 7 and 63, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Proficient in SQL, Excel VBA, AI automation tools, Go experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with core financial instruments (equities, fixed income, ETFs, cryptocurrency) and general market mechanics.
