Challenge
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer — Python-to-.NET Data Automation Migration who will be the measurement backbone of the AI Accelerator engagement. This is a short-term contract to consolidate, fix, and automate a set of existing data-movement scripts. The goal is a single, reliable, event-driven automated process that moves data from AWS/S3 and Postgres to a customer's preferred destination (MFT, S3 link, or SFTP), running in the client's .NET environment. Maintainability is a firm requirement, as the team will own and maintain this code after the engagement ends.
Responsibilities
- Reverse-engineer and fix existing Python scripts by diagnosing failures and reimplementing their intended behavior in .NET.
- Port logic to clean, well-structured C#/.NET that can be maintained and reused.
- Automate event-driven flows, replacing manual execution with processes covering segmentation, binding, validation, and data movement.
- Build robust error handling, including logging, alerting, and retry mechanisms.
- Document the process and deliver a runbook sufficient for the team to monitor and troubleshoot going forward.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong C#/.NET development experience with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
- Ability to read and reverse-engineer logic from existing Python scripts.
- Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3) and Postgres.
- Experience moving data to MFT, SFTP, and S3-based destinations using APIs.
- Experience designing event-driven processing using queues, triggers, or similar mechanisms.
- Practical debugging skills for diagnosing failures in complex or partially broken code.
- Ability to work independently to scope and deliver on a fixed 2-month timeline.
