The Role

As part of the Business Intelligence team, you will not just pull data, you will scope business problems, provide business critical insights using analytics, build end-to-end solutions, and drive the strategic narrative. You are responsible for translating complex data into clear, concise, and compelling narratives that drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the BI Analytical Workflow: You will manage the complete process of turning data into insights. This includes building and maintaining clean, reliable data models using dbt and using those models to create and maintain the critical Looker dashboards business partners rely on. You are responsible for the quality and accuracy of your deliverables, ensuring stakeholders trust the data you provide.
  • Strategic Analysis: You will conduct deep-dive analyses on key operational metrics to answer the "what" and "why" behind business trends. Your work will directly inform strategic decisions, from market prioritization to cost-saving initiatives.
  • Execution & Tight Turnarounds: You will field both urgent, quick-turnaround questions and long-term, high-impact projects. You must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality insights on tight deadlines while managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Process Improvements: You will proactively identify opportunities to improve our processes and reduce costs. This includes designing, testing, and supporting the implementation of new tools and workflows, such as automating announcements or optimizing bonus structures.
  • Dashboarding and Reporting: You will own the creation and maintenance of critical operational dashboards and reporting tools. Your work will provide clear visibility team performance and key business metrics, enabling self-service and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Data Storytelling and Communication: You will be responsible for translating complex data findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for leadership and other stakeholders. You'll bridge the gap between our technical data and our operational teams, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed.

To qualify for this role, you must possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in SQL and comfortable writing queries with multi-table joins, window functions, and aggregations to find the answers you need
  • Hands-on experience with a modern BI platform like Looker (strongly preferred), Tableau, or Power BI.

Ideally, you also have:

  • Proven ability to field both long-term, high-impact projects and urgent requests. You excel at setting realistic timelines and proactively communicating blockers or priority shifts.
  • Ability to build effective presentations and briefing documents to communicate insights and influence decision making.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Complex Problem Solving: Strong cognitive ability to analyze intricate data sets, identify trends, and translate them into actionable strategic insights.
  • Sustained Focus: High level of concentration and meticulous attention to detail required for accurate data modeling, SQL query writing, and dashboard creation.
  • Agility & Prioritization: Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, successfully balancing long-term, high-impact projects with urgent, tight-turnaround requests.
  • Analytical Translation: Excellent cognitive flexibility to bridge the gap between technical data and non-technical stakeholders, crafting compelling narratives that drive decision-making.
  • Resilience: Ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively and maintain composure and accuracy when business priorities or project scopes shift.
