Responsibilities
- Build n8n's Deal Desk function from scratch, AI- and automation-first: intake, approval workflow, and pricing guardrails.
- Advise Sales on deal structure and pricing to protect margin without slowing down the sales cycle.
- Maintain a simple set of discount and pricing rules that Sales can apply on their own, without escalating every deal.
- Run a monthly and quarterly deal war room to keep deal velocity high, especially around month-end and quarter-end close.
- Handle contract redlines and non-standard terms directly, keeping most negotiations out of Legal's hands.
- Build a redline clause library of accepted and rejected language, so AI can suggest fallback terms on routine deals.
- Automate approvals and quoting in CPQ, and use AI to triage incoming requests and flag which deal changes actually need re-approval.
- Own Salesforce data quality and executed-contract hygiene for every deal.
- Support Customer Success on non-standard renewal and expansion structuring.
- Coordinate security and compliance requests (DPA, SOC 2, security addenda) between Sales, Security, and Legal.
- Report monthly on deal desk performance: cycle time, discounting, and exceptions.
Requirements
Must-haves
- 📈 Deal desk knowledge: You have in-depth experience developing and operating a deal desk function, not just executing a process someone else fully designed.
- 📐 SaaS commercial fluency: You have a strong understanding of SaaS pricing models, revenue recognition and ARR reporting principles, and enterprise contract structures.
- ⚖️ Contract negotiation and redlining: You can negotiate and redline order-form-level terms directly with a customer and know when to involve Legal.
- 🛠️ CPQ/ Salesforce hands-on: You've configured and operated both a CPQ and Salesforce yourself, not just used what someone else set up.
- 🤖 AI-native working style: You default to AI and automation in your own work, with concrete examples of deal or approval workflows you've automated.
- 🤝 Stakeholder management: You have outstanding communication skills and can influence and manage complex stakeholders such as Sales, Legal, RevOps, and Finance.
Nice-to-haves
- 🏗️ 0-to-1 builder: You've spun up a deal desk or similar function from the ground up, defining the underlying processes and policies yourself.
- 🔧 Modern CPQ/billing exposure: You've worked with Salesforce CPQ or modern platforms like Hyperline or Solvimon.
- 🧩 Product curiosity: You're curious about n8n and ideally have already successfully built a workflow.
