About the Role
The Global Account Director, Payments Partnerships, is a senior commercial leader accountable for one of WooCommerce's most strategically significant partner relationships: a $100M ARR partnership with a mandate to deliver 30% year-over-year growth. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role that operates at the intersection of executive relationship management, commercial strategy, and cross-functional execution.
What You Will Do
- Partnership Ownership & Revenue Growth: Own and grow a $100M ARR strategic partnership, delivering a minimum of 30% year-over-year growth through disciplined pipeline development and joint go-to-market execution. Develop and execute multi-year strategic plans aligning WooCommerce's roadmap with partner objectives.
- Executive & Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and sustain trusted relationships across all levels of the partner organization, from C-suite sponsors to technical teams. Act as the primary internal champion, coordinating product, engineering, marketing, legal, and finance teams to secure investment and growth.
- Strategic Planning & Multi-Year Execution: Lead the development of comprehensive joint business plans. Build compelling business cases for senior leadership to secure resources and budget. Translate high-level goals into phased, actionable execution plans.
- Global Payments Landscape & Capability Intelligence: Maintain deep fluency in the global payments ecosystem, including interchange structures, PSPs, and network rules. Use this intelligence to identify capability gaps and surface new revenue opportunities.
- Global Growth & Go-to-Market: Drive global growth by identifying opportunities across geographies and collaborating with marketing and sales to execute co-selling and co-marketing initiatives.
- Operational Excellence: Establish robust reporting mechanisms to track partnership health and performance. Manage contract renewals and amendments with rigor and commercial discipline.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, global account management, or commercial leadership within the payments industry.
- Demonstrated track record of growing strategic partnerships at significant scale ($50M+ ARR).
- Deep knowledge of payment economics, including interchange structures, bank transfer costs, and payment network rules.
- Strong technical fluency in payment capabilities, enabling credible engagement with product and engineering teams.
- Exceptional executive presence with a proven ability to influence at the C-suite level.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities for building business cases and ROI frameworks.
- Proven ability to operate as an internal orchestrator across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Experience managing multi-year joint business plans in globally distributed, remote-first environments.
