Role Overview
CGS is seeking a Senior Auditor who will assist the district legal staff by conducting medical claims data analysis, forensic investigations, financial damages, statistical sampling, and ability-to-pay analyses. These tasks serve a significant role in determinations regarding investigations, prosecutions, settlements, and recovery in complex, voluminous matters.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Analyze complex personal and business financial records to identify payments, kickbacks, and money flows.
- Calculate ability-to-pay settlements, including debt covenants, financial ratios, accounts receivable/payable, and tax considerations.
- Identify, quantify, and understand related party transactions.
- Analyze healthcare claims and diverse financial data sets.
- Create financial damage models for use in litigation and conduct asset valuation.
- Conduct records reconstruction and develop computerized models to present financial evidence.
- Report on financial findings and communicate directly with attorneys and investigators.
- Prepare expert reports, participate in negotiations, and provide testimony as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in forensic financial accounting, litigation consulting, and/or health care fraud analysis.
- Strong understanding of the rules of evidence, civil procedures, and the elements of violations under investigation.
- Experience preparing expert reports and trial preparation is preferred.
- CPA or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification is preferred.
