Summary
The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a Senior Partnerships Manager, Content Enablement, to support our contributors by facilitating free access to quality source materials and databases. Reporting to the Director of Content Enablement, you will partner with publishers, aggregators, libraries, and media organizations to advance the Volunteer Support goal and Contributor Experience strategy.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Securing new partnerships for The Wikipedia Library that address community requests, gaps in existing coverage, and potential for impact.
- Supporting partners in The Wikipedia Library to make their content accessible and troubleshooting issues when they arise.
- Regularly communicating with partners and renewing agreements to ensure continuity of access to resources.
- Developing your product knowledge of The Wikipedia Library and understanding of Wikipedia citation practices and policies and guidelines (such as Neutral point of view and Reliable sources) in order to effectively communicate the proposition to partners.
- Identifying and communicating the needs of partners to the Product Manager to improve partner experience and the overall efficiency of the program.
- Collaborating with colleagues in Community Growth to develop a small menu of partner engagement opportunities, such as events, learning, and research.
- Using both Wikimedia and partner data to analyse the impact of the program, with support from the Data, Evaluation & Learning team.
- Collaborating with the communications team to highlight the library’s partnerships and impact for internal and external audiences.
Skills and Experience:
- Professional experience in publishing, media, or a related field, including collaboration with partners or networks.
- Proven flair for communicating ideas, with excellent written and spoken English and the ability to analyze data to uncover insights and tell stories.
- A proactive and flexible approach to working across departments, in a distributed and cross-cultural environment.
- Able to connect with partners who are typically based in UTC+2 to UTC-5 timezones and make 3 international trips each year.
- Typically requires 5+ years professional experience in addition to a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years experience with a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience.
