The Role
Truemed enables health and wellness merchants to accept $150+ billion in HSA/FSA funds. Labs is Truemed's zero-to-one innovation team, focused on turning early ideas into validated business opportunities. Operating outside the core product and engineering roadmap, Labs moves quickly and acts decisively, taking bold swings on ideas that could become new product lines. You'll join a small team with a high degree of autonomy, using AI-assisted development and rapid prototyping to move from idea to working prototype within weeks.
What You'll Do
- Own experiments end to end: start with a clear hypothesis, design the quickest test, build it, ship to users, and decide next steps based on data.
- Build functional prototypes for new products and experiences, from consumer surfaces to entirely new platforms.
- Use AI-assisted development, agentic coding workflows, and automation to accelerate prototyping and problem solving.
- Gather evidence using A/B tests, user feedback, and telemetry, prioritizing quantitative signals.
- Collaborate with your product owner and cross-functional partners to shape experiments and influence direction.
- Balance speed with sound engineering judgment, especially around security and compliance; partner with legal early to address risks.
- Document and share learnings with the broader organization.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of experience building and shipping software products (engineer, technical founder, or multidisciplinary builder).
- Comfort with ambiguity and discovery through experimentation.
- Strong experience with AI tools, agentic coding workflows, and automation to accelerate development.
- Experience shipping full-stack web applications (NextJS/Typescript frontend; Django/Python backend).
- Hands-on experience building product features using LLMs and foundation model APIs.
- An eye for product and design, with the ability to quickly create and test functional prototypes.
- Experience with hypothesis-driven product development: defining metrics, running experiments/A/B tests, and making data-driven decisions.
- Sound engineering judgment: able to balance fast, lightweight prototyping with awareness of security, compliance, and reliability where needed.
