Overview
Yuno is the payment orchestrator built for global scale, connecting businesses to 300+ payment methods worldwide. We are looking for a Staff Engineer to set the technical direction for our Integrations domain, encompassing over 130 provider integrations and 95+ webhooks.
This individual-contributor role reports to the VP of Engineering and focuses on defining architectural patterns, frameworks, and quality standards for the entire integration platform. You will lead through influence, partnering with Product, Compliance, and Security to shape the future of our global payment infrastructure.
How Yuno Will Challenge You
- AI-First Engineering: Standardize AI-assisted workflows using tools like Claude Code or Copilot to enhance coding, testing, and debugging processes.
- Building at Scale: Define architectural patterns and reusable abstractions for a massive integration ecosystem while ensuring reliability and low latency using Go.
- Technical Excellence: Set the quality bar for the domain, driving incident prevention, observability standards, and secure development practices (PCI compliance/OWASP).
- Cross-functional Execution: Lead design reviews, align squads on shared technical directions, and translate complex regulatory/provider requirements into a coherent technical roadmap.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor Senior engineers and build communities of practice to drive architectural consensus across the organization.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience (Go, Java, or Kotlin), including 3+ years at a senior or staff level.
- Direct experience with payments, fintech, or PCI-regulated systems.
- Expertise in microservices, event-driven architectures, and large-scale integration patterns.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Proven ability to define platform abstractions and technical frameworks utilized by multiple teams.
- Experience with cloud and DevOps environments (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
