About the role
As an AI Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work on ProcessOS, a new Camunda product that generates executable BPMN workflows from natural language and autonomously improves them using production data. You will own the deployment journey for enterprise customers, from the initial process file to a fully functioning system. This role requires working across Java services and React interfaces to measure, improve, and scale performance in real-world distributed systems. You will play a critical role in shaping the product, field practices, and implementation playbooks from the ground up.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deploy and prove: Manage the end-to-end deployment lifecycle, ensuring active improvement loops and measurable fitness gains within customer production environments.
- Drive organizational adoption: Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to foster trust and ensure successful implementation.
- Technical execution: Configure and manage Camunda clusters, debug complex integration failures, and build custom agents or connector logic to integrate legacy systems.
- Build the playbook: Codify deployment patterns and document best practices to streamline future implementations.
- Feed the product: Contribute custom agents, integration patterns, and bug fixes directly back into the core ProcessOS product.
- Hand off deliberately: Provide training and enablement to customer teams so they can operate the platform independently.
What You Bring
- Enterprise production experience: Proven track record of shipping and maintaining software within large-scale organizational environments.
- Technical depth: Expertise in debugging integrations, writing custom agents, standing up Camunda clusters, and explaining technical BPMN workflows to non-technical stakeholders.
- Stakeholder communication: Ability to adapt communication styles effectively between engineering teams and business leadership.
- Practical AI experience: Demonstrated experience using AI in production, including prompt engineering, context management, and agent testing.
- Comfort with ambiguity: Ability to make sound judgment calls and document discoveries in the absence of established playbooks.
